The recorder lessons are suitable for children aged 4 to 5 years (from 3 years old for SUZUKI training). I recommend a total teaching period of 2 to 3 years, depending on your level of enjoyment and endurance, because the recorder, in addition to its independence as a playing instrument, is also the basis for all other wind instruments. The music theory and practical skills learned during this time will definitely serve as the basis for any future instruments.
But also the recorder family are wonderful instruments for sophisticated baroque music to play either solo or in an ensemble. Bach or Handel have left great compositions to posterity.
I offer educational, child-friendly, easy-to-understand recorder lessons that leave enough room for individual creativity, ideas and questions. I focus on diverse teaching that involves the careful development of…
- Sound quality
- Fine motor skills
- Learn music notes and play by heart
- Rhytmic training
- Speaking and singing
- Training of the ear
- Ensemble music with other recorders (e.g. alto or tenor recorder)
- Musical interaction with piano and Orff instruments, Duetts, Trios etc.
- Improvisation, sound stories, recorder language
- Recitals, concerts and performances

Although both German and baroque fingerings are shown, I prefer baroque fingerings even for beginners to the recorder, as later relearning by students is usually viewed as much more problematic than baroque fingerings. The German fingering has severe intonation deficiencies.
I am happy to help you select and advise on a suitable baroque recorder.
Anyone who chooses an instrument must also decide to practice regularly. Regular practice is a must!
