MONTHLY TUITION RATES

Rates cover 36 lessons and two recitals. Tuition for the year is split into 10 equal monthly payments running from September to June.

Fees will be pro-rated for students beginning part way through the year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I HAVE A TRIAL LESSON?

YES! Absolutely! Give it a try and we will see how it goes. I would love to be able to help you learn the piano, recorder or the flute. Choose your language, German or English. 30 mins are charged with only C$ 30 online, C$ 40 in Home.

DO I NEED A PIANO, FLUTE or RECORDER?

YES! You will need it to practice at home. It doesn’t, have to be expensive depending on your budget. If you are purchasing an electric keyboard make sure you use one with weighted keys. Keys which do not have a real piano feel will affect technique and can cause comfort issues. I usually recommend anything by Yamaha such as the Yamaha P45, Korg or Roland.

In regards to the flute, again anything by Yamaha will serve you well as a beginner. They make instruments like tanks so they will survive the wear and tear and they also function well. Any of the Yamaha student model flutes will do well.

In regards to the recorder I recommend a wood model from Mollenhauer or Moeck. If the student starts at 3 or 4 years old, I recommend a plastic reocorder or one with at least a plastic recorder head.

DO YOU HAVE RECITALS and PERFORMANCES?

YES! Performances for the students are a good target and achievement to work towards. If you’ve been learning for a while, working hard and staying disciplined, it feels very nice to have a recital to point towards for your achievement! And you deserve it! It increases your self confidence and motivation when you done a good performance.

As clients adjust lesson times to work around a busy schedule or as new students start, vacancies vary so available times can be arranged on inquiry.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A LESSON?

If you miss a lesson we can book a makeup. If you want to cancel or reschedule a lesson for the week please allow at least 48 hours notice (2 days)

HOW DO I PAY?

Your monthly tuition is due on the first of each month. Your tuition is paid using automatic bank debits, bank transfer or with automatic credit card payments. Tuition paid with a credit card has an additional 3% fee added to your tuition to cover the cost of processing fees. Lessons are invoiced monthly at the start of each month. In the event that your payment is late or has failed, you will incur a C$20 late fee.

HOW ABOUT SNOWDAYS AND STORMS?

In the event of inclement weather, I will announce by email. If the power is on, you’ll still be able to have your lesson from the safety of your home and you’ll have an online lesson.
